Carbon fibers (alternatively CF, graphite fiber, or graphite fiber) are fibers about 5–10 micrometers in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. Carbon fibers have several advantages including high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and low thermal expansion. These properties have made carbon fiber very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. However, they are relatively expensive when compared with similar fibers, such as glass fibers or plastic fibers.

The atomic structure of carbon fiber is similar to that of graphite, consisting of sheets of carbon atoms arranged in a regular hexagonal pattern (graphene sheets), the difference being in the way these sheets interlock. Graphite is a crystalline material in which the sheets are stacked parallel to one another in a regular fashion. The intermolecular forces between the sheets are relatively weak Van der Waals forces, giving graphite its soft and brittle characteristics.

Bidirectional Carbon Fiber Fabrics

Carbon fiber is an industrial raw material commonly used in today’s industrialized countries. The product owns lightweight, high strength, high modulus, up to   2000℃ heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and fatigue resistance characteristic. Due to the excellent chemical and physical properties, carbon fiber products are widely used in various industries.

 Main application:

  1. Aerospace: Fuselage, Rudder, Engine Housing of Rocket, Missile Diffuser, Solar Panel, etc.
  1. Sports Equipment: Automobile Parts, Fish Pole, Baseball Bat, Sled, Speedboat, Badminton Racket, etc.
  1. Industry: Engine component, reinforced material of concert structure, air-blower vane, driving shaft, etc.
  1. Fire Protection: Apply for fireproof clothing production of the army, fire forces, steel plants, etc.

Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Fabrics

 Property

  1. Lightweight, easy to construct, and little increasing the weight on constructed based materials.
  1. Soft, free to cut, is suitable for a variety of shapes structures, and have close adhesion with the reinforced concrete surface.
  1. The thickness is small, so it is easy to overlap.

  2. High tensile strength, high flexibility, and have the same effect as to use steel plate reinforcement.
  1. Anti-acid and alkali, corrosion resistance, and can be used in any harsh environment.
  1. The supporting epoxy resin impregnated adhesive (recommended our company matching epoxy adhesive) have good permeability, the construction is simple and the time required is short.
  1. Non-toxic, non-irritating odor, living still in construction.
  1. The carbon fiber sheet has high tensile strength, which is equivalent 10 - 15 times to ordinary steel.

Main application

 Aerospace, building reinforcement
