Any time the soil warms up to at least 45 degrees Fahrenheit, pea seeds can be directly sown into the soil. The seeds germinate in cool soil when planted in full sun exposure. Snow or light frost does not damage pea seedlings. The seedlings do not tolerate temperatures in the teens that last several days.
